TownePlace Suites is a brand operated by Marriott International. The chain is part of the mid-tier extended-stay lodging segment of the hospitality industry and consists of all-suites hotels. As of year-end 2018, TownePlace Suites operated 433 hotels in the United States and Canada with 43,953 rooms in addition to 223 hotels with 22,467 rooms in the pipeline.

"I have stayed at the hotel on two occasions. The rooms are very nice and the staff very friendly, however, the hotel needs a good cleaning. The floors throughout the hotel are dirty! It seems like they don't get cleaned very often and the carpet in the hallways is gross! The walls are dirty everywhere and need to be scrubbed!

Breakfast every morning is good, but if you are there for more than a few days, you will realize that they don't have much variety.

Overall the hotel is nice but I am surprised the manager is not more aware of the cleanliness of the premises and for a Marriott, it is a shame it is so dirty!"

"Management is messy there is NEVER any clean lien and they can't keep workers because they abuse their authority they only care about the rooms. They roll over rooms so you can have alot of check outs"

There are great people that work at the property but the hotel itself needs help and the management company is not the best out there ! Definitely not worth being there working your behind off for little to no money and not being appreciated for your hard work"

"The most unorganized and unprofessional people I have ever worked for. Nobody stayed longer than a few weeks, constant gossip and drama from employees and especially "managers" who played favorites. Want you to work way more than what your getting paid for, and don't ever try to call off or be late unless your in good with management . You work for bare minimum wage while getting yelled at constantly. Do not care about their employees. And as much as they like to advertise there is no discounts on rooms, no beverages provided, no guest shop items unless you pay for them. Cons: Barely any breaks, cut your hours to nothing, gossip and drama, very low pay, no benefits"

Told you have to make more sacrifices in your personal life and with your children for your job. Asked to lie to future employees. "Working there is like being in elementary school. Lots of petty people, broken promises, and overworked employees. A whole lot of miscommunication took place. Cons: Inexperienced people in charge."

"There was never enough help nor anyone already staffed willing to help when short handed. They will have you do a 2 man job alone and only pay you $8.50 a hour. Tips were also taken by other employees when left at the front desk and not on the tables. Expected to cook, serve, clean, restock foods consistently, Prep for next day, prepare food order for Management 3 times a week, sweep, mop, and clean Windows for $8.50 and be done in 8 hours when it takes 2 people in 10 hours+ to do."

"It was fun because I learned so much when the management was still good and I truly felt what it was like to work for a Mariott hotel at a Marriott standard. Here, I expanded my knowledge in customer service with solving complaints and communicating with guests. We used to have strong minded leaders who were people we could truly look up to. Leaders who would teach us the right way and why. Cons: work culture, management, hourly pay."

"It was good until the GM got fired for no apparent reason. I was there for 2 more months afterwards, no new GM ever came. Dropped to 8hrs/wk no exp. i asked multiple times and was just told it was slow season. I was the senior housekeeper, ppl who started 2weeks ago were getting at least 25.. i quit shortly after, i got the message."

"If you like getting treated unfairly and over worked with no benefits what so ever, and the main boss in charge acts like you don’t exist, then this place for you."

"Overall, TownePlace in Hot Springs was a decent place to work. Pay wasn't great for what is asked of you to do AND expected to do other people's jobs. Housekeeping Manager was great except being demanding. The man over that hotel is disrespectful and rude. Doesnt appreciate the housekeepers at all. He calls buying lunch for everyone a dollar hamburger from McDonald's . He pushes you to do more then a body can handle. And speaks rudely to you if you can't get everything done in an 8 hr period with no lunch! But yet he doesn't know how to do an eighth of what everyone does. Just downright rude. I will never work for someone like him again. He seems to think Housekeeping is an easy and quick task in an extended stay hotel! Manager not consistent with schedule. Promises everyone a weekend off at least once a month. Never seen a weekend off the whole time I was there. Cons: Not enough hours, youll maybe get 40 hrs in 2 weeks, get bugged alot, expected to do more then your share, rude owner"

"I worked for RAM hotels for three years and was never offered a position higher in pay nor did they protect or aid their employees during COVID19 PANDEMIC...They have dropped the ball in several areas of management and the owners after working there three years couldn't spot me out of a lineup if they tried as many times as they came to their property I never was spoken too or encountered any face to face contact. My mother died while I worked there and they wouldn't allow me three days for bereavement bc there was not another auditor that they would be able to staff and management refused to cover any of my shifts. Constant turnovers and a raise is out of the question. I had no discplinary violations, I was highly skilled in my job and was not paid accordingly. Cons: Everything fore stated"

"that's about where it ended. not much else to keep you going. no benefits. pay is mediocre. working hours were a joke. no sense of teamwork. competitive in all the wrong ways. always presented the problem with no solution. senority ran everything and we went through about 5 general managers while I was there. "The people in the offices in front are all about seeking a higher status. They have had fired people for no apparent reason to move in friends. They do alot of favoritism. They are hiding( or at least I still think they are) an event that the owner should know. Honesty is the best policy, I don't think that they have it."

"The management changed after the first manager left. Once the new manager came everything changed. When the old manager was there she was understanding about being a parents and needing to make sure you got the hours you needed to be able to provide for your children. If an emergency came up she was very understanding. The new manager didn't care if you have a family emergency or not. I had to take my son to the hospital and i called and told them i had a family emergency and they told me if i didn't show up they were going to fire me. Yes it was my job but my child's health comes first.A typical day at work would always start off easy then in some rooms depending if the guests kept it nice it was an easy room to clean. If the guest leaves trash all over the place and or had pets in the room it would take longer to clean."

The alarm system constantly goes off and wakes up guests and the fire department show up. According to the manager, the alarm has done that for months. My coworkers would sleep on shift in the guest rooms. Theft by coworkers Plumbing was leaking and smelled of rotten food Laundry had major smells and stains on it that they put into guest rooms Management refused to fix issues"

They take advantage of some of their staff as well but I'll leave it at that. Poor management Lies to customers to get highest revenue possible They don't care if you're sick, health concerns etc. If you're not there, you'll get fired but they won't just fire you. They'll never put you on the schedule again and won't tell you why even if you're polite to them. They did this to a few employees who even had notes from doctors. Really sad"

"I worked at TownePlace Suites full-time for more than a year Cons: Nice people, low pay Anonymous - Lawrence, KS I liked the people I worked with but every person at that hotel is underpaid, overworked and tired. Most of us have left for better paying jobs. Housekeepers are tired, understaffed and always in a bad mood. Front desk staff might or might not show up for their shifts. Maintenance has a shop somewhere but I assume they sit in it because nothing is getting fixed. Management doesn’t listen to their employees or their concerns as I overheard a conversation behind the desk between management and employee and everything the employee was presenting wasn’t even heard, but another excuse from management. Guests come down for extra towels or linen and in the laundry room are mounds/piles of dirty laundry that might be caught up by Friday only to be slammed again Saturday afternoon. It’s no wonder the cleaners and laundry people are all in bad moods. They definitely aren’t putting employees needs or concerns first. Good people leaving due to low salaries but some stay and put up with it. So if you want to work for a low paying salary, with a management, sort of, management team who isn’t leading but pushing employees out the door, this place is perfect!"

The general manager spreads rumors about employees and then places the blame on other employees who had no involvement of the gossiping. You'll start out with starving wages and they always promise a pay raise after 3 months of starting but that never happened. Hard workers are not appreciated at all. Don't waste your time and apply at an actual Marriott and not a franchise. No benefits at all. The general manager expects the front desk and housekeeping to do his job so he can sleep in his office (I literally caught him sleeping in his office several times)."

"I have been working at TownePlace Suites part-time Cons: Management would openly lie to you, hire you for one thing and then ask you to work as something else "just for now" when they wanted to hire for the second position. They don't give breaks on 8+ hour shifts, which is illegal. They get away with it by specifying you are allowed to sit and eat whenever, as long as a customer is not around. And then they hound you and harass you for taking even one 15 minute break to eat. On more than one occasion I was expected to take care of two full, separate demanding positions because someone called in and got in trouble that my work wasn't completed all the way. So the next time I had to work two jobs, I stayed late to finish my work and got in trouble for staying late. The customers were the worst I've ever dealt with in any position. The level of ridiculousness that they complain about is astounding. Two customers even refused to use the restroom because there was only 3/4 rolls in there.... Customers screamed because my managers were unavailable, and I was told I needed to write an apology. This place is the most ridiculous."

Never been at a company with such disrespectful towards employees."

"CANCELLATION POLICY IS NOT TRUE. I booked a room last night on this site and it advertised the ability to cancel 3 days prior to arrival. Last night the hotel rooms available with King beds were sold out. I checked with the hotel tonight and they did have king beds. I attempted to cancel and re-book. They have a 100% PENALTY for canceling even though the arrival date is two weeks away. DISHONEST!!!"

"Booked a hotel where the infomation was not correct. I booked a room with aircon, but the room just had a ventilator. You need to make sure your information about the hotel is correct. Otherwise all else was fine."

"AVOID!!!! They charge the card immediately. They refund for less than they charged. You can't cancel online, only by phone. And the phone options at the Canadian number given only work in French, both options. I had to call the UK, and that's an automated service, which told me I'd be refunded an amount that was less than the charged amount. Then an email came giving the right figure.
